The Balkan velayat branch of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan, in collaboration with the "Mert" Mountaineering Club, recently organized a comprehensive training event focused on fire safety and first aid in mountainous terrain. While the mountains offer majestic beauty, they are also zones of increased risk. The primary goal of the session was to equip activists and outdoor enthusiasts with the essential skills needed to act decisively in emergency situations.
Participants discussed the specifics of fire safety in field conditions, including rules for setting up and extinguishing campfires and methods to prevent wildfires in the foothills. NRCST specialists conducted a hands-on masterclass. Attendees practiced techniques for stopping hemorrhages, splinting fractures using improvised materials, and performing CPR algorithms. Representatives from the "Mert" club shared professional insights on navigating complex terrain safely and the protocols for evacuating injured persons under resource-limited conditions.
"Knowledge of basic rules saves lives. Our mission is to ensure that every trek into the mountains is not only inspiring but, above all, safe," the organizers noted. Such initiatives highlight the vital importance of civic preparedness and the close cooperation between public organizations in protecting both human life and the natural environment of our homeland.
