In February 2026, thematic classes dedicated to civil defense and preparedness for emergency situations were conducted in secondary schools No. 5, 9, 40, 136 and Russian school under the name of A.S. Pushkin in Ashgabat city.
In accordance with the approved work plan for 2026, a total of 600 schoolchildren, together with their teachers, gathered in the assembly halls not merely to listen to lectures, but to genuinely prepare for any unpredictable situations that nature might present.
A specialist from the Civil Defense and Rescue Operations Department of Turkmenistan addressed a vivid, informative, and highly accessible lecture. The students learned:
- Rules for evacuation from buildings;
- What to do during dust storms, hurricanes, or heavy downpours;
- How to prevent fires and correctly use a fire extinguisher.
Particularly memorable were the words about earthquakes that cannot be predicted, so the most important thing during earthquake is remain to keep calm and clearly know the steps of actions.
The head of the Eemergency situations department of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan continued to the meeting with an equally important topic - “First Aid Skills and Self-Protection Rules.” He told the children about:
- Types of emergency situations and possible damage;
- How to behave during a strong earthquake, when seconds can determine everything;
- How to properly provide assistance to the injured;
- The noble mission of the National Red Crescent Society, which is always the first to come to people’s aid in crisis situations.
Each presentation was accompanied by lively examples, questions from the schoolchildren, and practical activity. Such educational meetings help our children grow up confident, responsible, and be ready for any critical situation.
These meetings are not just lessons - they represent a real contribution to the safe and happy future of our children. For today they acquire knowledge that tomorrow may save their own lives and the lives of their loved ones.
Safety, calm, knowledges — these are the core values of the modern Turkmen school!
