Annually on August 19, the global community observes World Humanitarian Day, a date established by the UN General Assembly in 2008. It serves as a tribute to humanitarian workers who have dedicated their lives to helping people in crisis, and as a recognition of everyone who continues this vital mission around the world. Humanitarian aid is more than just delivering food, medicine, and essential supplies. It is a powerful expression of solidarity, compassion, and a readiness to support those in need, regardless of their country, nationality, or faith.
The National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan, as part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, contributes daily to helping those in need. Our staff and volunteers work in the spirit of humanitarian principles: humanity, neutrality, independence, and impartiality. They provide support in emergencies, strengthen community resilience, and help preserve human dignity.
On this day, we extend our deep gratitude to all humanitarian workers and volunteers who despite difficulties and dangers, continue to help people in the most challenging circumstances.
Help is a force that unites the world.
