04.07.2020: Activities of the Dashoguz velayat department of the NRCST for emergency management in the summer season.

      Employees of the Dashoguz velayat department of the NRCST, together with representatives of the fire safety department of the Police Department of the Dashoguz velayat, held an event on "Fire safety" among the technical workers of the technical maintenance enterprise named after S.Rozmetova. The event was dedicated to preventive and preparatory measures as part of emergency response procedures. Specialists from the velayat department spoke in detail about the rules for responding to fires. The event helped participants to improve their skills in risk assessment, developing preparedness and response measures, and emergency planning. The organization of outreach work by experts of the velayat department of the NRCST with the onset of the summer season makes a significant contribution to observing and ensuring fire safety.

THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES

– Humanity

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, born of a desire to bring assistance
without discrimination to the wounded on the battlefield, endeavours, in its international and
national capacity, to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found. Its purpose
is to protect life and health and to ensure respect for the human being. It promotes mutual
understanding, friendship, cooperation and lasting peace amongst all peoples.

– Impartiality

It makes no discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. It
endeavors to relieve the suffering of individuals, being guided solely by their needs, and to give
priority to the most urgent cases of distress.

– Neutrality

In order to continue to enjoy the confidence of all, the Movement may not take sides in hostilities or
engage at any time in controversies of a political, racial, religious or ideological nature.

– Independence

The Movement is independent. The National Societies, while auxiliaries in the humanitarian services
of their governments and subject to the laws of their respective countries, must always maintain
their autonomy so that they may be able at all times to act in accordance with the principles of the
Movement.

– Voluntary service

It is a voluntary relief movement not prompted in any manner by desire for gain.

– Unity

There can be only one Red Cross or one Red Crescent Society in any one country. It must be open
to all. It must carry on its humanitarian work throughout its territory.

– Universality

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, in which all Societies have equal status
and share equal responsibilities and duties in helping each other, is worldwide.

     I have been working at the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan since 2002. Over the past 16 years. Taking part in the activities of the National Society, I has witnessed many people expressing their gratitude for the support received.
      I am proud of current achievements of the National Society. Today the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan has become the most recognized organization in all parts of our country for its humanitarian activities. People who address the National Society with their problems receive not only material, but also psychological support from the staff. In addition, staff of the National Society is carrying out large-scale activities to educate the population of rendering the first aid, as well as prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases, harmful effects of bad habits and promote healthy living. Staff members of the National Society by achieving the goals set clearly demonstrate the effective performance of the auxiliary role of the National Society.
