On June 15-17, 2026, a meeting was held with the participation of the Heads of Red Crescent Societies of Central Asia to review the work carried out and achievements achieved in the first half of 2026, as well as the work planned for the second half of 2026. The meeting consisted of several stages:
Strategic vision and humanitarian directions. Priority areas of the Red Crescent Societies of Central Asia for 2026-2027, development of a common program for 2027.
Humanitarian diplomacy and law in the system of disaster response. Consultation
on the renewal of the treaty on law in disaster areas, regional coordination and
legal priorities.
Development and sustainability of the Red Crescent Societies of Central Asia.
Exchange of information on the activities of the Red Cross and Red Crescent
Movement.
In light of 2026 being the International Year of Volunteers, regional coordination
and discussions held regarding the upcoming forum in Kazakhstan.
On June 16, 2026, representatives attended the 'Disaster Management' training event organized under the HIP project. In the afternoon, a working meeting held with the participation of Kate Forbes, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and representatives of the Singapore Red Cross Society, the Italian Red Cross Society, the Turkish Red Cross Society, and the Finnish Red Cross Society.
During the meeting, Kate Forbes, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and Seval Guzelkilinc, Head of Country Cluster Delegation for Central Asia, presented the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan with a commemorative gift in honor of its selfless humanitarian work and its 100 years of adherence to the fundamental principles of the Movement. This commemorative gift will be a great impetus for the further improvement of the work of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan in our country in all its aspects.
On June 17, 2026, Kate Forbes, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, met with Maral Achilova, Chairperson of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan. Kate Forbes, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, expressed her gratitude for the great work carried out by the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan in key areas. A wide-ranging discussion held on the activities of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan and its planned activities. I also had the opportunity to participate in the meeting with the leaders of the Red Crescent Societies of Central Asia. This event gave us young people a great motivation to continue working in Arkadag, a smart city that has no equal in the region, and in our humanitarian work, following the principles of our society and the tasks set by our Honorable President.
