A training seminar was held at Secondary School No. 36 in Mary as part of the "Green School" program, which aims to strengthen a safe, sustainable, and environmentally conscious school environment. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan, and the Däp-Dessur Economic Association.
School principals, teachers, and students participated in the event. The seminar addressed issues of comprehensive school safety, child protection, emergency preparedness, and fostering environmental awareness and "green skills" among young people.
Practical sessions and training modules on integrating child protection and environmental sustainability measures into daily school activities were organized for teachers. Participants learned about modern approaches to creating a safe school environment, risk management, developing environmental initiatives, and implementing "green school" principles.
Particular interest was generated by the interactive exercises, teamwork, and development of school initiatives. Students and teachers collaborated on thematic projects focused on environmental issues, sustainable development, and volunteerism. The program discussed the importance of climate literacy, environmental leadership, and developing practical skills for the future in young people.
The organizers emphasized that such events foster collaboration between schools, teachers, students, and local communities, and help foster a responsible attitude toward safety, environmental issues, and sustainable development.
The seminar was held in an active and productive atmosphere and marked an important step in promoting the Green School program initiatives in the Mary velayat.
