An effective training workshop was conducted at secondary school № 25 under the leadership of specialists from the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan. The training was led by experienced teachers, specialists Muhammetgeldi Allayarov and Ahmet Babajanov, a consultant for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

The goal of the training is to prepare education workers of the Mary region to act correctly in emergency situations. The primary task is to transform the school into a safe zone—meaning that in the event of an earthquake or other disasters, every teenager and child learns how to save themselves and provide assistance to those around them.

During the training workshop, the basics of first aid and evacuation rules were explained. Volunteers worked in groups, developed action plans, and learned how to make quick decisions.

Initiatives for school improvement:

As part of the training, volunteers discussed two important initiatives to be implemented next week:

  • “Peer-to-Peer” methodology;
  • “Green Playground” project.
