Magtymguly Etrap, A comprehensive tactical and special exercise was held in the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains to practice rapid response to a mass influx of migrants and asylum seekers. The National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan, Balkan Velayat Branch, also participated in the exercise, working closely with representatives of law enforcement agencies and relevant national departments.
The main objective of the exercise was to test the readiness of humanitarian organizations and government agencies to ensure security, medical care, and decent living conditions for people caught in crisis situations.
During the maneuvers, an autonomous tent camp was quickly set up in Magtymguly Etrap, designed to temporarily accommodate a large number of people. The camp infrastructure included: Registration and initial screening points; identification of arrivals and identification of their basic needs. Residential area: Specially equipped tents equipped with sleeping accommodations and essential items. Medical unit: Mobile hospitals for emergency care and sanitary and epidemiological monitoring. Food and hygiene areas: Field kitchens and mobile showers.
Interagency Cooperation
Special attention was paid during the exercise to coordination between Red Crescent volunteers and law enforcement personnel.
The exercise demonstrated a high level of teamwork. Using the rugged terrain of Magtymguly etrap, it was possible to simulate real-life conditions as closely as possible, testing the logistical capabilities of delivering cargo to remote areas.
This event confirms Turkmenistan's commitment to international humanitarian standards and the country's readiness to effectively manage migration processes within the framework of international law.
