On 12-14 October 2025, the Europe and Central Asia National Societies Leadership Meeting, organized by Red Cross of Monaco with the support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), took place in Monaco.
A delegation from the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan, led by Maral Achilova, Chairperson of the NRCST, participated in the event. The chairperson of NRCST presented the Society's experience in humanitarian response, capacity building, and promoting the Movement's fundamental principles.
The purpose of the meeting was to create a platform for strategic dialogue between National Society leaders, exchange experiences, and agree on priority actions in response to the humanitarian challenges. The event has been as continuation of the cooperation and contribution to strengthening the unity of National Societies' active work. Special attention was also paid to the 60th anniversary of the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Participants from 45 different National Societies emphasized their relevance in the modern world and reaffirmed their commitment to humanity, neutrality, and independence as the fundamental values of humanitarian action.
Key discussion topics included emergency preparedness, climate change and related impacts, institutional resilience, healthcare, youth engagement, digital transformation, and the advancement of humanitarian diplomacy.
For the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan, participation in this meeting was an important step in strengthening international cooperation and sharing experience aimed at protecting life, health, and human dignity.
